Here’s a selection of highly recommended activities for all ages and all kinds of weather.

  • We have lots of toys in the garage, so feel free to use them! Playing in the garden with a football or a fresbee is a low key activity. When in season, you can also pick blackcurrant and blueberries, rhubarb, and sour cherries from the garden.

The fjord offers swimming, fishing (there’s equipment you can use), and snorkelling if you can take the cold water. Also, hiking on the nearby mountain, foraging mushrooms in the woods, or simply going to the nearby playground (2 mins walk), are all great activities that kids of all ages can do.

And either way - just enjoy. Aalesund is amazing on the good days, but it will shift quickly, so make sure you make the most of it while you have it.

    • Get dressed and go outside, no matter the weather. Make delicious hot cocoa and watch netflix or read a book in front of the fireplace afterwords.

    • Go to the Aquarium and watch truly wet creatures in their original habitat. Finish off with a locally made ice cream tub in the cafe.

    • Get all that energy out by jumping and playing around the great hall of Sportsparken Vegsund or Epic Digernes. Fun and physical activity for all ages.

    • Bybadet is the newest public swimming hall in Aalesund. It’s fairly modest, but universally shaped by local architects, and very popular with the kids.

    • Devoldfabrikken offers a destination of small boutique shops, outlets and activity-rooms where the kids can play while the parents shop or lunch. Located in Langevåd, a 20 mins drive from Bakkely.
